Getting a high-grade recording of yourself playing the piano will usually take quite a bit out of your wallet. Some of this cost comes from hiring the piano and studio, but the bulk of it is typically for hiring a professional sound engineer to watch over you as you play. Much of that cost, however, is completely unnecessary if you simply want to play a few songs solo. Once the microphones are set up, one only needs to know how to use a computer to click the 'Record' and 'Stop' buttons to record themselves. Yet, in Melbourne, there are few (if any) self-recording piano studios. We plan to make that reality.
